Omlet Catio review

One thing separates Omlet from every other seller in this category, and it is not the product. Omlet publishes what freight will cost, per size, before you reach the checkout. On a flat-pack steel run that is a real advantage, and 5 of the 68 records collected for this site carry a freight figure. All of them are Omlet's.

Prices, freight, stock and specifications checked 12 September 2026

Stock, on the date checked. All 5 catio run sizes were listed as out of stock in Omlet's own offer data, under a sitewide notice about limited availability due to high demand. The 4 accessory lines we recorded, the porch and the tunnel components, were listed as in stock the same day. That is a snapshot and not a permanent state, but it is the difference between reading this page and being able to act on it, so check availability before anything else.

The range, with freight included

Five pre-configured sizes. Floor area is computed by this project from Omlet's own published dimensions, because Omlet does not publish a floor area and nor does anyone else. The delivered column is the only one of its kind on this site: price plus the freight Omlet publishes for that exact size.

Catio Price Freight Delivered Floor area Per m2 Delivered per m2 Height
Omlet Outdoor Cat Run - Catio - 2 x 2 x 1 $819 $55.99 $874.99 3.24 m2 $252.78 $270.06 1150 mm
Omlet Outdoor Cat Run - Catio - 2 x 2 x 2 $1,129 $62.49 $1,191.49 3.24 m2 $348.46 $367.74 2050 mm
Omlet Outdoor Cat Run - Catio - 2 x 3 x 2 $1,399 $77.49 $1,476.49 4.86 m2 $287.86 $303.80 2050 mm
Omlet Outdoor Cat Run - Catio - 3 x 3 x 2 $1,699 $94.99 $1,793.99 7.29 m2 $233.06 $246.09 2050 mm
Omlet Outdoor Cat Run - Catio - 3 x 4 x 2 $1,999 $110.99 $2,109.99 9.72 m2 $205.66 $217.08 2050 mm

Freight runs from 5.6 per cent of the price on the 3 x 4 x 2 up to 6.8 per cent on the 2 x 2 x 1, which is the usual shape of flat-pack shipping: the small unit carries proportionally more of it. Every other seller in this category leaves that number to a postcode field or to checkout, so on those you cannot do this arithmetic at all.

Two of the five sizes have derived dimensions

Omlet publishes a labelled dimension diagram for the 2 x 2 x 1, the 2 x 2 x 2 and the 3 x 3 x 2, giving both an external footprint and the usable footprint inside the anti-tunnel skirt. It does not publish one for the 2 x 3 x 2 or the 3 x 4 x 2. For those two, the width and depth in the table come from Omlet's own published section grid: runs start at 1.8m by 1.8m and extend in 0.9m sections, so a 3 x 4 is 2.7m by 3.6m usable. That is our reading of Omlet's published system rather than a figure Omlet states, and it is recorded that way in the dataset. Where a diagram exists we used the usable footprint, not the external one, because the skirt is not floor a cat can use.

Mesh, and the reason it is that size

The aperture is lower half 25 x 75, upper half 50 x 75 millimetres. The tighter grid sits on the lower half, where a cat is most likely to test it, and the wider grid on top. That upper figure is the largest aperture of any framed enclosure recorded on this site. For scale, the tightest is the Somerzby Condo Cat Enclosure at 10 x 10 millimetres. Omlet and Catnets are the only two sellers that tie an explicit kitten warning to their own mesh: Omlet's FAQ says extra mesh or covers may be needed on the upper half for a kitten or a very small cat. A seller volunteering the limitation of its own product is worth more than the specification itself.

The frame is steel with what Omlet calls a dark green coating, and the process behind that coating is not named. No seller in this category publishes a wind rating, Omlet included, so nothing here tells you how a 2.05m tall steel run behaves in a coastal southerly. Omlet's own engineering note goes the other way: it explains that the 3m wide runs use horizontal support poles to push the roof up so rain does not pool on a fitted cover.

Where it lands against the rest of the market

Mid-pack, and the table says so. The best rate in the Omlet range is the 3 x 4 x 2 at $205.66 per square metre, which puts it 18 out of 54 on the priced enclosures compared across this site. The cheapest floor in Australia is the Catnets Quad 3.6m x 3.6m Portable Cat Enclosure at $86.42 per square metre, from a seller that has no affiliate program and never will. If the only thing you are buying is square metres, buy that one.

What the extra money buys here is a steel frame rather than netting over poles, a published freight cost, a 24 month warranty and a genuinely modular system: the porch is a double-door vestibule that stops a cat bolting past you as you go in, and the tunnel components let the run start at a window rather than a door. Only 13 of 58 structural units on this site publish a warranty period at all, and Omlet's 24 months is the longest of them.

Accessory Price Freight What it is for
Omlet Catio Tunnel System - Tunnel $90 not published One straight tunnel section
Omlet Catio Tunnel System - Window Box $100 not published Window exit box: lets the tunnel run from a house window rather than a cat flap
Omlet Catio Tunnel System - Tower $120 not published Vertical tower section that takes the tunnel up or down a level, for example from a first-floor window to ground level
Omlet Outdoor Cat Run - Catio - Porch $349 not published Accessory, not a standalone enclosure: a double-door airlock vestibule that stops a cat bolting past you as you enter the run

Note the freight column on the accessories. Omlet publishes a shipping rate inside the offer data for the runs and does not publish one for the porch or the tunnel parts, so those read as not published rather than as free.

What we would earn, if we were in the program

Omlet is the only seller in this category with an affiliate program, and we have not applied to it. The published terms are 5 per cent of order value excluding tax, a 60 day cookie, last click across the whole basket, paid 30 days after dispatch. Two details in that sentence do most of the work.

Excluding tax means the base is not the shelf price. Australian retail prices include 10 per cent GST, so on the 3 x 4 x 2 at $1,999 the commission base is $1,817.27 and the commission is $90.86. That is 4.55 per cent of the price. Delivery is excluded from the base too, so measured against the $2,109.99 a buyer actually hands over, it is 4.31 per cent. The headline rate and the real rate are not the same number, and a site that quoted the headline without that arithmetic would be quoting its own income inaccurately.

One clause is still unverified. The public affiliate page states no exclusion for sale items or discount-code orders, but we have not seen the full affiliate terms. On a sibling site in this portfolio exactly that clause voided almost every sale, so it gets confirmed in writing before any tracking link goes on this page. Until then the links here are plain links and this page earns nothing.

Who it suits

Someone who wants a steel-framed, walk-in run they can extend later, who values knowing the delivered cost up front, and whose cat is an adult rather than a kitten. Someone chasing the most contained floor per dollar should not buy it: netting over a steel frame is less than half the rate per square metre and the full brand comparison shows exactly where. And on the date we checked, nobody could buy any size of it at all.

Common questions

Can you actually buy an Omlet catio in Australia right now?

Not on the date we checked. All 5 catio run sizes were listed as out of stock in Omlet's own offer data on 12 September 2026, alongside a sitewide notice about limited availability. The porch and every tunnel component were listed as in stock on the same day. So the accessories are buyable and the enclosures were not, which is worth confirming before you plan a build around them.

How much does Omlet charge for delivery?

Between $55.99 and $110.99, published per size inside each product's own offer data. Omlet is the only seller in this category that publishes a freight figure at all: 5 of the 68 records collected for this site carry one, and all of them are Omlet's. On the 2 x 2 x 1 that freight is 6.8 per cent of the purchase price.

Is the mesh safe for a kitten?

Omlet's own answer is a qualified no. The mesh is lower half 25 x 75, upper half 50 x 75 millimetres, and Omlet's FAQ states that because of the aperture, kittens or very small cats may need extra mesh or covers added to the upper half. That upper figure is the largest aperture on any framed enclosure on this site, against 10 x 10 on the Somerzby Condo Cat Enclosure. It is a design decision rather than a defect, but it changes what the run is suitable for.

Do you earn a commission if I buy one?

Not today. Omlet runs the only affiliate program in this category and we have not applied to it, so there are no tracking links on this page. If we were approved, the rate is 5 per cent of order value excluding tax with a 60 day cookie. Australian prices include 10 per cent GST and delivery is excluded from the base, so on the 3 x 4 x 2 at $1,999 plus $110.99 freight the commission would be $90.86, which is 4.31 per cent of what a buyer actually pays.
